How to use
Reishi is traditionally taken in the evening, which is why it fits well into a pre-sleep ritual. Consistency matters most: it is an everyday addition, not a one-off „shot”. Do not exceed the recommended daily serving. Classic synergies: Reishi + Lion's Mane (the evening and day axis), Reishi + Chaga (a LONGEVITY-line classic), Reishi + Cordyceps (Reishi in the evening, Cordyceps in the morning). Detailed advice and synergies in the Reishi category description.
A glossy, lacquered cap in a dark-red colour, hard as wood and bitter as a root. On decaying hardwood, most often oak, in warmth and moisture, a reddish, lacquered form appears: first a small knob, then after months a full fruiting body with its characteristic gleaming cap. This is reishi (Ganoderma lucidum), in the Chinese herbal canon known as Lingzhi (灵芝, „the mushroom of immortality”) and in Japanese as Reishi (霊芝, „the divine mushroom”). It is one of the oldest documented functional mushrooms in history. Chinese tradition distinguishes six colours of reishi, and we work exclusively with the red one, the most widely used in tradition. For us it is the same mature red-reishi fruiting body and the same dual extract, only enclosed in a vegan capsule, with no bitterness on the palate and no measuring. This is where the competition writes what reishi „does”. We leave it blank. Not because we have nothing to say, but because the law does not allow it. The rest is done by your 90 days of consistency.

From Mateusz's clinic
Natural supplementation takes time. You will not get fit after one training session, and likewise do not expect miracles after the first serving of mushrooms. Reishi is a long-cycle mushroom. You will not feel it after the first capsule or the first week. Mushrooms work subtly in the background, building a rhythm in which the evening is no longer an extension of the day, only its closing. I recommend the capsules to those who want the same extract as in the powder, but in a form ready to take on a trip or to work. This is exactly the reishi I supplement with myself and give to those close to me. Honestly, I cannot give you a better recommendation. We do not have the energy for persuasion, we put everything into the product. Mateusz Rosa, doctor of acupuncture (title obtained in 2018), TCM therapist, author of the books „The Awakening of Health” and „Supplementation with Functional Mushrooms”.
Ingredients
Dual water-and-alcohol extract from the Reishi fruiting body (Ganoderma lucidum, DER 10:1, standardized for beta-glucans at minimum 30%) 50%, powdered Reishi fruiting body 50%. Capsule shell: HPMC. Pack: 90 capsules. No fillers, no maltodextrin, no magnesium stearate, 100% vegan.
Storage
Store tightly closed in a dry, cool and dark place, preferably at room temperature, away from direct light. Protect from moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Shelf life is 24-36 months in the original packaging.
Precautions
Consult your doctor before use if you take anticoagulant or antiplatelet medicines (warfarin, NOAC medicines, acetylsalicylic acid), plan surgery or dental surgery (stop using the product at least 14 days before), have an autoimmune disease in an active phase, take immunosuppressive medicines, tend toward low blood pressure or take hypoglycaemic medicines. The product is not intended for pregnant or breastfeeding women or people under 18.
Research
What does the reishi fruiting body hold? Two different groups of compounds that require two different extraction methods. The first are β-1,3/1,6-glucans, water-soluble polysaccharides. The second are ganoderic acids (over 150 type A-Z triterpenes), alcohol-soluble, responsible for the characteristic bitterness of reishi and present mainly in the fruiting body. On top of that, GLPS polysaccharides, adenosine, ergosterol and peptidoglycans. A water-only extraction skips the ganoderic acids, and an alcohol-only one skips the β-glucans. That is why we sell neither raw powder nor a single-fraction extract. We do a dual water-and-alcohol extraction and combine it half-and-half with the powdered fruiting body, enclosing it all in a vegan capsule.
Producer
We work only with the fruiting body (not mycelium) of red Reishi from mountainous, non-industrial regions of China, grown semi-wild in cultivated forest conditions. Standardized for minimum 30% beta-glucans, with every batch tested at EUROFINS.
Who it is for
This is the LONGEVITY line, the gentler version for daily, long-term supplementation. The SEN variant is the classic evening reishi ritual, for people for whom this mushroom is above all a moment of calm after a day full of stimuli. It is not the mushroom you want to take if you are looking for a spark. It is the mushroom for people who feel their revs have been half a tone too high for a long time. It is most often chosen by people who:
- want the same extract as in the powder, but in a form ready to take on a trip or to work, with no measuring and no getting used to the bitterness;
- are building an evening wind-down ritual and want to close the day mindfully, 1-2 hours before sleep;
- complement a varied diet with a functional-mushroom extract and value a transparent composition and repeatability;
- are starting out with functional mushrooms and prefer a gentle, everyday line over an intensive protocol;
- are looking for a long-cycle mushroom rather than a quick spark. If you are after morning energy, look at Cordyceps or Lion's Mane.
What sets us apart
A cheap reishi extract is expensive
You pay less and get mostly filler: maltodextrin and mycelium grown on grain, which was never a fruiting-body extract. Most of our customers split their history with functional mushrooms into two stages: the extracts they bought before, and the ones they buy from us. After switching to ours, they rarely go back to the others. These capsules are the same recipe as our LONGEVITY powder: mature red-reishi fruiting body, a 10:1 extract, dual water-and-alcohol extraction, half-and-half with the powdered fruiting body. There is one difference: convenience.
Mature fruiting body, not mycelium on grain
We work with a mature fruiting body grown on wood in cultivated-forest conditions. Not with mycelium grown on rice or barley, in which 70-85% of the final mass is starch from the substrate. In industrial cultivation, mycelium grows for a few weeks in a bag with sawdust, rice or barley, and the final product is 70-85% grain substrate. This difference determines the profile of bioactive compounds, especially the ganoderic acids, whose biosynthesis requires time and contact with wood.
Dual water-and-alcohol extraction, 10:1
Reishi needs both media: water draws out the water-soluble β-glucans, ethanol draws out the alcohol-soluble ganoderic acids. A water-only extraction skips the ganoderic acids, that is, what is responsible for the bitter, full profile of the fruiting body. Ten kilograms of raw material yield one kilogram of extract. Standardised for a minimum of 30% β-glucans in the extract, measured by the Megazyme method. The capsule holds the same 50/50 extract as the powder: 50% dual water-and-alcohol 10:1 extract, 50% powdered fruiting body from the same source.
Vegan capsule without carriers, tested at EUROFINS
An HPMC shell and the extract. No maltodextrin, no magnesium stearate, no fillers. We test every batch in the independent EUROFINS laboratory: purity (heavy metals and pesticide residues), β-glucans by the Megazyme method. Every batch has an individual certificate, which we publish without retouching.
About the numbers we do not race over
Brands today race over who has the bigger number on the label: a higher percentage of β-glucans, a higher DER, a bigger „patented” something. We do not play that game. Standardisation at a minimum of 30% β-glucans is our floor, verified in the lab. A higher marketing number usually means one of two things: either a dishonest measurement method (reishi β-glucans counted together with α-glucans from the starch of grain cultivation, which artificially inflates the result) or lower raw-material quality somewhere else in the process. Reishi is living matter. Every batch can be different. That is why we are not selling you a number. We are selling you a carefully selected extract that we make as if for ourselves.
Where we source reishi and who stands behind it
We work in China, not for marketing reasons but for substantive ones. China is the homeland of reishi; two thousand years of tradition produced an extraction technology that does not exist in Europe. Ganoderma lucidum grows best in the warm and humid climate of East Asia. The fruiting body comes from mountainous, non-industrial regions of China, from semi-wild cultivation in cultivated-forest conditions, harvested at full maturity, and the source is audited once a quarter. The extraction is run by our partner Yi, twenty years in the field, seeking a balance between the old way (long low-temperature maceration) and the requirements of a modern laboratory: repeatability, standardisation, a certificate for every batch.
Traditional Chinese Medicine
Classification in TCM
The text below is a description of reishi in the system of concepts of traditional Chinese medicine, developed over more than two millennia. It is not a scientific claim or a promise of a health effect. Concepts such as Shen or the Liver meridian do not correspond one-to-one to Western anatomy or physiology. Treat this section as cultural context.
Reishi (Lingzhi, 灵芝) holds an exceptional place in Chinese tradition. The first written mentions of Lingzhi come from the Chinese herbal Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing, written about 2000 years ago, where it was placed in the highest category of herbs, shang yao, that is, materials regarded as safe for long-term use. Classically linked to Shen (spirit, mind) and the Heart. In tradition it was used in the context of calming the mind and evening regeneration. In Japan, red reishi was reserved for the imperial court for centuries. These are ethnographic facts. They are not a forecast of what you will feel after taking a reishi capsule.
Energetic profile in TCM. Taste (味, Wèi): bitter (苦, kǔ), slightly sweet (甘, gān). Nature (性, Xìng): neutral (平, píng). Meridians (归经, Guījīng): Heart (心), Liver (肝), Lungs (肺). The above is a description of the classification according to traditional Chinese medicine, not a claim about the health effect of the product. This is the tradition that Mateusz, the founder of Aloha Fungi and a Doctor of Acupuncture (WFAS), works with day to day.

90-day ritual
Three stages of one cycle
- 1
First days
You take 3 capsules in the evening, 1-2 hours before sleep, with water. Five days a week, with a weekend break. This is the stage where reishi becomes a steady part of your evening. The convenience of the capsule is that you do not have to measure anything or get used to the bitterness.
- 2
First weeks
You reach for reishi before you think it is time. The evening capsules become part of slowing down, a signal to the body that the day is ending. First observations usually come after 4-8 weeks of regularity.
- 3
90-day cycle
A full ninety days. In Eastern tradition, this is how much time you give yourself to observe any protocol or practice. One pack of 90 capsules covers about 30 days of that cycle in a 5/2 rhythm, so a subscription delivered every 30 days carries you through all ninety days. After the cycle you decide: keep going, take a break, return seasonally, or change protocol.
Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
How many capsules should I take a day?
The recommended daily serving is 3 capsules (about 1.5 g of extract), preferably in the evening, 1-2 hours before sleep, with water. In a targeted protocol under a therapist's care, up to 4 capsules a day. A pack of 90 capsules lasts about 30 days of use at that serving in a 5/2 rhythm, roughly six calendar weeks; a full cycle of observation is a minimum of 90 days, so a few such packs in a row, which is why a subscription delivered every 30 days works well here.
Capsules or powder, which to choose?
Inside is the same 50/50 extract. You choose capsules for convenience and repeatability: nothing to measure, no bitterness, easy to take on a trip. You choose the powder if you enjoy an evening ritual with a warm drink (cacao, plant milk) and do not mind the characteristic bitterness of reishi. The powder is also often more cost-effective per serving.
Why reishi in the evening, not in the morning?
In TCM tradition reishi is an evening mushroom, classically linked to Shen and the Heart, used in the context of calming down. For that reason the traditional practice is to take it in the evening. Taking it during the day is possible, but many customers prefer to keep it for the evening. If you are after morning energy, look at Cordyceps or Lion's Mane.
Are the capsules vegan?
Yes. The shell is plant-based hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), without animal gelatine. Inside is the fruiting-body extract and powdered fruiting body, with no magnesium stearate and no maltodextrin. The product is 100% vegan.
Why dual extraction, not just water?
Because reishi has two different groups of compounds that require two different media. β-glucans dissolve in hot water. Ganoderic acids dissolve in alcohol. A water-only extract gives you one fraction, an alcohol-only one the other. Dual water-and-alcohol extraction gives a fuller profile of the fruiting body. More expensive and slower, but that is the difference.
How long should supplementation last?
90 days as a full cycle. First observations usually come after 4-8 weeks of regularity. After a full cycle you can take a 2-4 week break and decide: continue at a smaller serving, return seasonally in cycles, or stop. The classic LONGEVITY practice is 2-3 cycles a year with breaks.
Can reishi be combined with other mushrooms?
Yes. Classic synergies: Reishi + Lion's Mane, the evening and day axis; Reishi + Chaga, a LONGEVITY-line classic; Reishi + Cordyceps, reishi in the evening, cordyceps in the morning. Individual protocol tailoring during a free consultation.
Will reishi help me with a specific condition?
We will not answer. If we did, it would be an illegal health claim. Reishi is a food supplement, not a medicine. If you are considering it as part of support for a specific condition, discuss it with your treating doctor.
Do you have your own studies on reishi effects in humans?
No. We have studies of the raw material and the purity of every batch (β-glucans, heavy metals, pesticides) carried out at EUROFINS. We do not run clinical studies on effect, because that is not our role. When someone says they have their own study on effect in two hundred people, ask where it is published.
Can I open the capsule and add it to a drink?
You can, though you will then taste the characteristic bitterness of the extract. If you prefer a form to dissolve in a warm drink, the more natural choice is Reishi LONGEVITY powder, which is intended for that.
How does LONGEVITY differ from PRIME?
LONGEVITY is our everyday line: 50% 10:1 extract and 50% powdered fruiting body, the gentler version for long-term supplementation. PRIME is an 80% extract complex and 20% powder, a more intensive version for periods that demand more. The choice between lines and individual tailoring during a free consultation.
Can I use your reishi in my own product (B2B)?
Yes. We have a B2B offer for own-brand creators, therapists and venues. Details at the producer's contact address.
