Dual water-and-alcohol extract from the Reishi fruiting body (DER 10:1, min. 30% beta-glucans) 50% + powdered fruiting body 50%. Pack: 50 g. No fillers.
Add to water, tea, coffee, a smoothie or food, preferably in the evening. Do not pour boiling water over it.
Reishi was traditionally recommended in the evening, so it fits a bedtime ritual. Regularity matters most, and for the best results we recommend 90 days of consistent use. Do not exceed the recommended daily serving. Classic synergies: Reishi + Lion's Mane (evening and day axis), Reishi + Chaga (LONGEVITY line classic), Reishi + Cordyceps (Reishi in the evening, Cordyceps in the morning). Detailed advice and pairings are in the Reishi category description.

Is it for me?
Reishi is the ideal evening mushroom. It gives the most to people who want one steady point in the day when the body gets the signal: we slow down. Deeper sleep, vivid dreams, less tension are common feedback from people who use our reishi regularly.
The day ends late, your mind keeps working, and sleep comes with difficulty. You're looking for a ritual that closes the day and lets you slow down.
Coffee, training and work do their job. Reishi sits on the other side of the day: where the body rebuilds its strength.
The one that grows in nature. Our fruiting body comes from mountain cultivation, a 10:1 extract, at least 30% β-glucans (Megazyme), and we test every batch. We guarantee the highest quality. The fruiting body, a 10:1 extract and testing of every batch matter to you, not the word “premium”.

Traditional Chinese Medicine
The text below is a description of reishi in the system of concepts of traditional Chinese medicine, developed over more than two millennia. It is not a scientific claim or a promise of a health effect. Concepts such as Shen or the Liver meridian do not correspond one-to-one to Western anatomy or physiology. Treat this section as cultural context.
Reishi (Lingzhi, 灵芝) holds an exceptional place in Chinese tradition. The first written mentions of Lingzhi come from the Chinese herbal Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing, written about 2000 years ago, where it was placed in the highest category of herbs, shang yao, that is, materials regarded as safe for long-term use. Classically linked to Shen (spirit, mind) and the Heart. In tradition it was used in the context of calming the mind and evening regeneration. In Japan, red reishi was reserved for the imperial court for centuries. These are ethnographic facts. They are not a forecast of what you will feel after taking a reishi capsule.
Energetic profile in TCM. Taste (味, Wèi): bitter (苦, kǔ), slightly sweet (甘, gān). Nature (性, Xìng): neutral (平, píng). Meridians (归经, Guījīng): Heart (心), Liver (肝), Lungs (肺). The above is a description of the classification according to traditional Chinese medicine, not a claim about the health effect of the product. This is the tradition that Mateusz, the founder of Aloha Fungi and a Doctor of Acupuncture (WFAS), works with day to day.
Cultural context, not a scientific claim or promise of effect.
First days
Add 2-3 teaspoons from the pack to your favourite drink or meal.
First weeks
First observations usually come after 4-8 weeks.
90-day cycle
In Eastern tradition, this is how much time you give to observing a practice.
Why Aloha?
You can check each of them on the label and in the batch tests.
The fruiting body is where tradition and chemistry meet most fully: beta-glucans and bitter triterpenes. Mycelium grown on grain mostly brings starch from the substrate into the jar.
Reishi grows on wood in a managed forest, not in an industrial hall. We buy the raw material directly from Yi, who has spent two decades with functional mushrooms and knows every batch.
Two groups of compounds, two solvents. A single-fraction extract always loses something. The 10:1 ratio means ten kilograms of fruiting body go into one kilogram of extract.
We declare a threshold, not a slogan. Beta-glucans are measured with the enzymatic Megazyme method, which tells them apart from starch and does not inflate the result.
Heavy metals, pesticide residues, microbiology and beta-glucan content. We publish batch results on the Research page, under the LOT number from your pack.
The cheaper extract is usually the most expensive: you pay less and get more filler. Compare for yourself.
| Feature | Aloha Reishi | Typical extract |
|---|---|---|
| Part of the mushroom | Mature fruiting body | Mycelium on rice or barley |
| Concentration | 10:1 extract | 1:1 powder or an “extract” with no ratio |
| Extraction | Dual: water + ethanol | Water only or no information |
| Beta-glucans | ≥30%, Megazyme method | “Polysaccharides” with no method |
| Fillers | None. The rest is fruiting-body powder | Maltodextrin, substrate starch |
| Batch testing | Every batch, results public | None or just “tested” |
From a practitioner of Chinese medicine
I work every day with the tradition this mushroom comes from. That is why Reishi is the first Aloha mushroom.
Mateusz Rosa
Doctor of Acupuncture (WFAS), founder of Aloha Fungi
„Reishi has been my evening ritual for years. I reach for it when the day refuses to end.”
In the classical texts of Chinese medicine, Lingzhi belongs to the highest class of herbs, the ones meant for long, daily use. That is how I treat it: as part of the evening, not a quick fix.
For the best results we recommend 90 days of regular supplementation. TCM tradition looks at time differently: it describes change as a process that takes time.

It depends on the form. Capsules: 3 a day (LONGEVITY: 1.35 g of content, including 675 mg of 10:1 extract; PRIME: 1.35 g of content, including 1080 mg of extract), taken with water. Powder: 2-3 teaspoons added to your favourite drink or meal. Drops: 20 daily (333 mg of extract) in a drink or under the tongue. Follow the serving stated on the label of your pack and do not exceed the recommended daily serving.
Inside is the same 50/50 extract. You choose capsules for convenience and repeatability: nothing to measure, no bitterness, easy to take on a trip. You choose the powder if you enjoy an evening ritual with a warm drink (cacao, plant milk) and do not mind the characteristic bitterness of reishi. The powder is also often more cost-effective per serving.
In TCM tradition reishi was associated with the evening, so some people choose it for an evening ritual. This is cultural context and a matter of preference, not a claim about what the product does. Follow the label for the relevant form.
Yes. The shell is plant-based hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), without animal gelatine. Inside is the fruiting-body extract and powdered fruiting body, with no magnesium stearate and no maltodextrin. The product is 100% vegan.
Because reishi has two different groups of compounds that require two different media. β-glucans dissolve in hot water. Ganoderic acids dissolve in alcohol. A water-only extract gives you one fraction, an alcohol-only one the other. Dual water-and-alcohol extraction gives a fuller profile of the fruiting body. More expensive and slower, but that is the difference.
Usually the raw material. Cheaper products are typically mycelium grown on grain, where a large part of the weight is the carrier (grain, maltodextrin), not the mushroom. Our product is made exclusively from the fruiting body: a 10:1 extract standardised to a minimum of 30% β-glucans, with every batch tested in a laboratory. On a competitor's label look for the word "mycelium" and check whether a β-glucan percentage confirmed by testing is stated.
There is no single universal duration of use or guaranteed time at which an effect will be felt. Follow the label for the relevant product variant and do not exceed the recommended daily serving. If you take medication or plan long-term supplementation, discuss it with your doctor.
Yes. Classic synergies: Reishi + Lion's Mane, the evening and day axis; Reishi + Chaga, a LONGEVITY-line classic; Reishi + Cordyceps, reishi in the evening, cordyceps in the morning. Individual protocol tailoring during a free consultation.
We will not answer. If we did, it would be an illegal health claim. Reishi is a food supplement, not a medicine. If you are considering it as part of support for a specific condition, discuss it with your treating doctor.
No. We have laboratory documents covering raw-material parameters and purity, including beta-glucans, heavy metals and pesticide residues. A document should always be matched to the batch number on the packaging. We do not run clinical studies of the finished product or present raw-material studies as proof of an effect in people.
You can, though you will then taste the characteristic bitterness of the extract. If you prefer a form to dissolve in a warm drink, the more natural choice is Reishi LONGEVITY powder, which is intended for that.
LONGEVITY is our everyday line: 50% 10:1 extract and 50% powdered fruiting body, the gentler version for long-term supplementation. PRIME is an 80% extract complex and 20% powder, a more intensive version for periods that demand more. The choice between lines and individual tailoring during a free consultation.

How long: the first pack covers about 30 days, a full cycle is 90 days. Do not increase the serving beyond the label; if you want more, change the line, not the number of servings.

Reishi: properties, research and safetyThese studies looked at Reishi extracts, not our product. We show them so you know where the reputation of this mushroom comes from.
Reishi is studied for perceived fatigue and well-being.
In an 8-week placebo-controlled trial of 132 people with chronic fatigue, a Reishi polysaccharide extract lowered fatigue scores and improved well-being ratings.
Tang et al., Journal of Medicinal Food 2005 ↗Reishi compounds are studied for antioxidant protection.
In 42 healthy adults, a Reishi preparation rich in triterpenoids and polysaccharides raised selected markers of antioxidant capacity in a placebo-controlled crossover study.
Chiu et al., Pharmaceutical Biology 2017 ↗Even a single serving of the extract shows up in the body.
In 18 healthy volunteers, a single dose of Reishi extract raised plasma and urine antioxidant capacity, while the other measured parameters did not change.
Wachtel-Galor et al., British Journal of Nutrition 2004 ↗Reishi is one of the most chemically described mushrooms.
A 2022 review gathered more than 600 compounds from the genus Ganoderma, with triterpenes as the main group. They are what make the fruiting body bitter.
Galappaththi et al., Biomolecules 2022 ↗The Reishi fruiting body contains water-soluble polysaccharides, including beta-1,3/1,6-glucans, and alcohol-soluble triterpenes, including ganoderic acids. Its characteristic bitterness is linked to the triterpene profile.
That is why the process uses water and ethanol. Water-only and alcohol-only extracts do not cover the same raw-material fractions. The cited literature concerns the raw material and its molecules, not Aloha products as therapies.
What does the reishi fruiting body hold? Two different groups of compounds that require two different extraction methods. The first are β-1,3/1,6-glucans, water-soluble polysaccharides. The second are ganoderic acids (over 150 type A-Z triterpenes), alcohol-soluble, responsible for the characteristic bitterness of reishi and present mainly in the fruiting body.
On top of that, GLPS polysaccharides, adenosine, ergosterol and peptidoglycans. A water-only extraction skips the ganoderic acids, and an alcohol-only one skips the β-glucans.
That is why we sell neither raw powder nor a single-fraction extract. We do a dual water-and-alcohol extraction and combine it half-and-half with the powdered fruiting body, enclosing it all in a vegan capsule.
Reishi is one of the most thoroughly characterised mushrooms in chemical terms.
A review published in „Biomolecules” (2022) described more than 600 compounds across the genus Ganoderma, with triterpenes as the main group. It is precisely these bitter triterpenoids that give the fruiting body its characteristic taste.
The molecular structure of the ganoderic acids was described in detail in, among others, the „European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry” (2019), and the architecture of β-glucans (molecular weight, branching, triple-helix conformation) and the way such a structure is recognised at the molecular level were examined in a review in „Carbohydrate Research” (2025).
We test every batch of extracts in the independent EUROFINS laboratory, with particular emphasis on purity. We check for heavy metals and pesticide residues. β-glucans are determined by the Megazyme method. Every batch has an individual certificate.
Let us be honest: the above are studies of the raw material and its molecules, most often conducted in the laboratory, not of our supplement. Standardising the composition is, for us, a reason to care about extract quality. Bibliographic data: PubMed.
The cited papers concern the raw material and its compounds, not our product. They are not claims about treatment.
A food supplement does not replace a varied diet or a healthy lifestyle. This product is not a medicinal product. Do not exceed the recommended daily serving. Not for use during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or by children. If in doubt, consult a doctor or pharmacist.
