Accepted payments: BLIK, card, Apple Pay, Google PayWhite, rounded fruiting bodies densely covered with long, soft spines growing from the centre, looking like a lion’s cascading mane. In the wild it grows on oak and beech trunks; in Poland it is strictly protected, which is why the extract comes exclusively from controlled cultivation on oak and beech sawdust. The fruiting bodies are harvested before sporulation, when the spines are full and white, without any yellowing.
How to use
Full cycle: a minimum of 90 days of regular use. Lion’s mane is a classic example of a mushroom where regularity yields observation and occasional use does not. Larger servings are used only in a targeted protocol, under the care of a therapist. Do not exceed the recommended daily serving.
White, globular fruiting bodies covered in long, soft spines that resemble a lion’s mane. Hence the English name Lion’s Mane. In cultivation they grow on oak and beech sawdust. For us it is a 10:1 extract from the Lion’s Mane fruiting body in a plant-based capsule, half and half with powdered fruiting body. Fruiting body only, no maltodextrin and no magnesium stearate, standardised to a minimum of 30% β-glucans and tested at EUROFINS for every batch. Lion’s mane is a daytime mushroom, traditionally taken in the morning. In the capsule it is the same fruiting-body extract, this time with no taste, no bitterness and no measuring out a teaspoon: three capsules in the morning, ideally with a meal containing fat.

From Mateusz's clinic
Natural supplementation takes time. Lion’s mane is not a nootropic shot you feel in fifteen minutes. It is a long-cycle mushroom. I tell clients plainly: if you will not hold out for 60 days, do not start. Individual observations appear over weeks, not hours. I recommend the capsules to those who want lion’s mane on hand without a cup ritual: three of them, water, done. One more thing from the clinic: stimulation after lion’s mane in the first phase is not always a bad sign, it is worth observing rather than dropping it straight away. You do not have to trust me. We have no energy for persuasion, we put everything into the product.
Ingredients
Water-alcohol extract from the Lion’s Mane fruiting body (Hericium erinaceus, DER 10:1, standardised for β-glucans at minimum 30%) 50%, powdered Lion’s Mane fruiting body 50%. Capsule shell: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC plant-based capsule). No fillers. No maltodextrin. No magnesium stearate. 100% vegan. Pack: 90 capsules.
Storage
In a tightly closed package, in a dry, cool and dark place, preferably at room temperature, away from direct light. Hericenones are lipophilic and sensitive to oxidation, so an airtight package protects the extract profile. Keep away from children. Shelf life 24-36 months in the original packaging; once opened, use within a reasonable time.
Precautions
Consult your doctor before use if you take prescription medicines, in particular SSRI or SNRI medicines (in that case a consultation with a psychiatrist is advised, despite no confirmed significant interactions). If you regularly take any medication, consult the supplementation with your doctor. Stop the product at least 14 days before any planned surgery. The product is not intended for pregnant or breastfeeding women or people under 18. A single case has been described in the literature (Japan, 2003) of an acute respiratory hypersensitivity reaction with an immunological basis after several months of supplementation with Hericium extract. If respiratory symptoms (shortness of breath, dry cough, fever) appear during use without another obvious cause, stop the supplementation and consult a doctor.
Research
Lion’s mane is unique among all functional mushrooms for one reason: it is the only mushroom in which two key classes of bioactive compounds are split between the fruiting body and the mycelium. Hericenones are aromatic, lipophilic compounds present in the fruiting body. Erinacines are diterpenoids, present mainly in the mycelium and also measurable in the fruiting body; it is precisely their molecular structure that the work of Rupcic and colleagues in the “International Journal of Molecular Sciences” (2018) addresses, in which two new cyathane diterpenoids from Hericium erinaceus were chemically isolated and structurally described. In addition, the fruiting body contains β-1,3/1,6-glucans (polysaccharides), ergothioneine (an antioxidant) and ergosterol, provitamin D₂. This is a fuller profile of the mushroom, not a single isolated molecule.
Producer
We work only with the fruiting body (not mycelium) of Lion’s Mane from controlled cultivation on oak and beech sawdust with bran; in the European Union we offer only fruiting-body extract, without maltodextrin and without dilution by a grain substrate. Standardised to a minimum of 30% β-glucans, measured at the EUROFINS laboratory, with descriptive control of hericenones and erinacines according to the batch. Every batch is tested at EUROFINS: heavy metals by ICP-MS, pesticide residues, β-glucans by the Megazyme method, the hericenone and erinacine profile descriptively by HPLC, and on request species-identity confirmation by DNA barcoding. ALOHA WEALTH AND WELLNESS Sp. z o.o. The product is notified to the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate (GIS) in accordance with Polish food law.
Who it is for
This is the LONGEVITY line, the gentler version for everyday, long-term supplementation. It is a daytime mushroom, so LONGEVITY suits people who want gentle, everyday morning supplementation, day after day. It is most often chosen by people who:
- want to have lion’s mane on hand without a cup ritual: three capsules, water, done, no taste, no bitterness and no measuring out;
- prefer a fruiting-body extract standardised for β-glucans over cheap mycelium grown on grain;
- are building a daily supplementation ritual for every day across 90 days, in the most convenient form;
- are starting out with functional mushrooms and prefer a gentle, everyday line over the intensive PRIME protocol.
What sets us apart
Cheap lion’s mane extract is expensive
You pay less and you get mostly filler: maltodextrin and mycelium grown on grain, in which signature compounds are next to nothing. Most of our customers split their history with functional mushrooms into two stages: the extracts they used to buy, and the ones they buy from us. After switching to ours they rarely go back to those. Our extract is made from Lion’s Mane fruiting bodies, not from mycelium on grain.
Fruiting body on a wood substrate, not mycelium on grain
We work with a fruiting body grown on oak and beech sawdust with bran, not with mycelium on rice or barley, in which a large part of the final mass is starch from the substrate and signature compounds are present only in traces. In Poland, lion’s mane is strictly protected in the wild, which is why extracts on the European market always come from controlled cultivation. We harvest the fruiting bodies before sporulation, when the spines are full and white without yellowing, and we audit the source once a quarter.
10:1 fruiting-body extract
Ten kilograms of raw material yield one kilogram of extract. In a pack of 90 capsules it is half and half: 50% water-alcohol 10:1 extract and 50% powdered fruiting body from the same source. Standardised to a minimum of 30% β-glucans, tested at EUROFINS for every batch, with descriptive control of hericenones and erinacines according to the batch. HPMC plant-based capsule, no maltodextrin, no magnesium stearate. In the European Union, fruiting-body extract only.
Two extraction paths
Hericenones are lipophilic and sensitive to hot water, so we obtain them by ethanol extraction at a lower temperature. We obtain β-glucans and erinacines by water extraction. Combining both paths protects the full profile.
Every batch tested at EUROFINS
An independent laboratory, with particular emphasis on purity. We check for heavy metals (by ICP-MS) and pesticide residues. We measure β-glucans by the Megazyme method, and the hericenone and erinacine profile descriptively by HPLC. On request, species-identity confirmation by DNA barcoding is available. Every batch has its own certificate.
About the numbers we do not race over
Brands today race over who has the bigger number on the label: a higher β-glucan percentage, a higher hericenone percentage, a higher DER, a higher milligram count per capsule. We do not play that game. Standardisation to a minimum of 30% β-glucans is our minimum, verified in the laboratory. We control hericenones and erinacines descriptively, according to the batch, because lion’s mane is living matter and their content depends on the substrate and the batch of raw material. A higher number in marketing usually means one of two things: either a dishonest measurement method (β-glucans counted together with α-glucans from starch in grain cultivation, which artificially inflates the result), or lower-quality raw material elsewhere in the process. That is why we do not sell you a number. We sell you a carefully selected extract that we make as if for ourselves.
Where we source lion’s mane and who stands behind it
The fruiting bodies grow on oak and beech sawdust with bran, because the composition of the wood substrate influences the hericenone profile. The extraction is run by our partner Yi. Twenty years in the trade. With lion’s mane it is crucial to run two extraction paths: an ethanol one at a lower temperature for the lipophilic hericenones, which hot water degrades, and a water one for the β-glucans and erinacines. Yi seeks the balance between the old way and the demands of a modern laboratory: repeatability, standardisation, a certificate for every batch. The goal is simple: to respect nature and at the same time give you a product you can trust.
Traditional Chinese Medicine
Classification in TCM
Lion’s mane is a functional mushroom with white, globular fruiting bodies covered in long, soft spines that resemble a lion’s mane. In Japan it is known as Yamabushitake, the “mushroom of the yamabushi monks”, from the mountain tradition of Shugendō, and in China as Hou tou gu, “monkey’s head”. In Far-Eastern tradition it accompanied monastery and court cooking for centuries, and in the Chinese classics it was linked to support for the stomach and mucous membranes. This is the tradition that Mateusz, the founder of Aloha Fungi and a Doctor of Acupuncture (WFAS), works with day to day.
The description below is lion’s mane within the system of concepts of traditional Chinese medicine, developed over centuries. It is not a scientific claim or a promise of a health effect. Concepts such as Qi, Shen or the Spleen meridian do not correspond one to one with Western anatomy or physiology. Treat this section as cultural context. In the Chinese classics lion’s mane is understood above all as support for digestion and the mucous membranes of the stomach. Modern interpretations, including clinical practice, additionally link it to the nervous system and clarity of mind. These are two different tracks: the classical gastric one and the modern one, associated with concentration. In tradition, brain fog was linked to a pattern of Phlegm disturbing clarity of mind. This is a frame of observation, not a medical diagnosis.

90-day ritual
Three stages of one cycle
- 1
First days
You take 3 capsules in the morning or before noon, ideally with a meal containing fat, because the hericenones are lipophilic. This is the stage where lion’s mane becomes a fixed part of your morning. The capsules have no taste and no bitterness. In some people a transient stimulation appears in the first phase. It is not always a bad sign, but it is worth observing.
- 2
First weeks
You reach for the capsules before you think it is time. The morning serving becomes part of starting the day. Lion’s mane is not a shot like coffee, it is a long-cycle mushroom. First observations usually come after 4-8 weeks of regularity.
- 3
A 90-day cycle
A full ninety days. Lion’s mane is a classic example of a mushroom where regularity yields observation and occasional use does not. Taking it once every three days and judging it after a week makes no sense. After the cycle you decide: carry on, take a break, or change the protocol.
Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
How many capsules a day should I take?
The serving recommended for consumption during the day is 3 capsules, ideally in the morning or before noon, taken with water, during or just after a meal containing fat. A pack of 90 capsules lasts 30 days. Larger servings are used only in a targeted protocol, under the care of a therapist.
Capsules or powder, which to choose?
It is a matter of convenience and taste. Capsules are the simplest: three of them and water, no taste, no bitterness, no measuring out, easy to take on a trip. You choose the powder if you enjoy a morning ritual with a warm drink and want to combine lion’s mane with coffee, cacao or plant-based milk.
Why lion’s mane in the morning and not in the evening?
Lion’s mane is a daytime mushroom, so it suits the morning and the first half of the day. In some people, a transient stimulation appears in the first phase of supplementation, so an evening serving may make it harder for them to fall asleep. If you are looking for a mushroom for evening wind-down, look at Reishi.
Why are capsules best taken with a meal containing fat?
Because hericenones, one of lion’s mane’s signature classes of compounds, are lipophilic, meaning they dissolve better in fat than in water alone. That is why taking the capsules during or just after a meal containing fat, for example with avocado, nuts or olive oil, is a simple application tip for better bioavailability.
After how long will I notice an effect?
Lion’s mane is a long-cycle mushroom, not a shot like coffee. First observations usually come after 4-8 weeks of regularity, a fuller picture after a full 90-day cycle. Taking it once every three days and judging it after a week makes no sense.
What are hericenones and erinacines?
They are two classes of lion’s mane signature compounds, unique across the whole portfolio of functional mushrooms. Hericenones are aromatic and lipophilic, present in the fruiting body. Erinacines are diterpenoids, present mainly in the mycelium and also measurable in the fruiting body. Lion’s mane is the only functional mushroom in which two key classes of compounds are split between the fruiting body and the mycelium. Their content depends on the substrate and the batch, which is why we control them descriptively, not as a single number on the label.
Does lion’s mane “regenerate the brain” or work like a nootropic?
We do not use such language and the law does not allow it. Studies on lion’s mane compounds and nerve growth factor (NGF) are interesting, but conducted mainly on cells and animals. These are preliminary studies, not a diagnosis or a promise of an effect in humans. Lion’s mane is a food supplement, not a medicine and not “brain food”.
Can lion’s mane be combined with other mushrooms?
Yes. Classic synergies: lion’s mane + Cordyceps, both before noon; lion’s mane in the morning + Reishi in the evening, the axis of day and evening; lion’s mane + Chaga in a daily rhythm. Individual protocol matching during a free consultation.
I take prescription medicines. Can I use lion’s mane?
If you regularly take any medication, consult the supplementation with your doctor. We advise particular caution for people taking SSRI or SNRI medicines, for whom a consultation with a psychiatrist is advised, despite no confirmed significant interactions. Stop the product at least 14 days before any planned surgery. The product is not intended for pregnant or breastfeeding women or people under 18.
I have heard about a respiratory reaction after lion’s mane. What is that about?
A single case has been described in the medical literature (Japan, 2003) of an acute respiratory hypersensitivity reaction with an immunological basis after several months of supplementation with Hericium extract. This is a single, rare case, not a typical reaction. We mention it out of care for full information. If respiratory symptoms (shortness of breath, dry cough, fever) appear during use without another obvious cause, stop the supplementation and consult a doctor.
Do you have your own studies on the effects of lion’s mane in humans?
No. We have studies of the raw material and the purity of every batch (β-glucans, heavy metals, pesticides) carried out at EUROFINS. We do not run clinical studies on effect, because that is not our role. You will find a fuller picture of the state of knowledge about lion’s mane, with references to studies, in the lion’s mane category description.
How does LONGEVITY differ from PRIME?
LONGEVITY is our everyday line: 50% 10:1 extract and 50% powdered fruiting body, the gentler version for long-term supplementation. PRIME is a higher share of extract, a fraction complex, the more intensive version for periods that demand more. The choice between the lines and individual matching during a free consultation.
Can I use your lion’s mane in my own product (B2B)?
Yes. We have a B2B offer for own-brand creators, therapists and venues. Details at the manufacturer’s contact address.
A food supplement does not replace a varied diet or a healthy lifestyle. This product is not a medicinal product. Do not exceed the recommended daily serving. Not for use during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or by children. If in doubt, consult a doctor or pharmacist.
